The Troy Davis execution continued, although doubt of his innocence resonated within his case.  How do we keep his story relevant?  How can we continue his fight for people after him?  Davis has always claimed his innocence and with his last breath reiterated once again he did not kill anyone.   In his final words to the family of the slayed officer Mark MacPhail , in which he was convicted and sentenced to death,  “Let you know, despite the situation you are in, I’m not the one who personally killed your son, your father, your brother. I am innocent, he continued, the incident that happened that night is not my fault. I did not have a gun. All I can ask … is that you look deeper into this case so that you really can finally see the truth.   He went on to pray for the prison staff, For those about to take my life, may God have mercy on your souls. May God bless your soul.”  Once again, the question is raised should the death penalty have a place in American society? If so how can you be sure you have sentenced the right person to death. Tell us what you think about the case and the execution of Troy Davis.  FYI thisandthatreaders!!
