As mentioned i am a true Alaskan, born and raised. There are so many places I haven’t been to all of my 44 years! So yesterday we planned to take the kids to see the fireworks. We found out they started at midnight! I can’t do that anymore! We decided to go to Kincaid Park. http://Kincaid Park | Things To Do in Anchorage | ALASKA.ORG https://share.google/5NYlj0Qu7Pa9HPBpx
The weather was perfect, not to hot and just enough breeze to keep you cool while walking the trails. Kincaid Park is a popular attraction for tourists and locals. It offers trails and scenery with plenty of room to explore. You can also walk down to the beach.
Our original plan was to take the trail down to the beach. However, we ended up going a totally different way. I can’t really explain where we went. We went down a grassy hill towards a lookout point. We stood there for a few minutes looking out to the inlet.
like I said there are so many trails. Paved trails, wide and narrow trails, rocky trails and trails in between the trees and rubbish. My mom and I chose to stay on the paved trail. We let the kids explore down the more narrow ones. We made our way back up the hill and had to sit down because my mom needed a short break. After about 10 minutes we got up and started our way down the path to the beach. Not even half way in we stopped. We realized it would take us an extra 45 minutes to get there. This was because, well, my mom isn’t as fast as she used to be. That’s ok. We decided the goal will be to come back and make it further down the trail. Our ultimate goal is to make it to the beach this summer.
Slowly we made it back to the car to head back home. I took a slight detour to stop by Earthquake park because I personally haven’t been there for years. It has grown from the way I remember it. And so much more people! We only stayed for about 30 minutes to take in the view and I got a picture of downtown anchorage. Which is always pretty cool!

All in all it was a good 3 hours. Heading back home we stopped by McDonald’s for an ice cream cone. Which I think that was the highlight of the kids day! Lol.
