Adrian Peterson, 29, surrendered to police on Saturday and was charged with injury to a child, a felony. He was released on $15,000 bail.
He told cops he grabbed a switch — a thin tree branch — and struck his child at least 10 times in May. Photos that have since emerged show the boy’s legs and buttocks covered in bloody cuts, welts and bruises.
Vikings General Manager Rick Spielman said the team was still in the process of gathering information. The team could extend Peterson’s suspension for more than one game or release him.
