Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr filed the largest public sector bankruptcy in the nations history. Unfortunately this will slash pension benefits for city workers and retirees and not to mention how it will effect city of Detroit as a whole. Govener Snyder said the financial condition left him no choice. Orr said 38% of the city’s budget is being spent on legacy cost, such as pension and debt service. The city faces a 18 billion debt.
