Ex Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has been paroled after severing nearly two years of a possible five-year sentence.  He is schedule to be release no sooner than July 24, 2011.  Kwame was incarcerated for violation of probation; authorities believed Kilpatrick withheld information on his assets.  He owes the city of Detroit 860.000 in restitution.  Kilpatrick pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice in the case that was tied to his cover
up of an extra marital affair with his chief of staff Christine Beatty, which forced him out of office in 2008.  Today in court the prosecution argued that Kilpatrick will profit from his new book “Surrendered: The Rise, Fall and Revelation of Kwame Kilpatrick”, as a result the judge order an escrow account be set up to make sure the city receives the restitution he owes.  He is not out of the fire, he has federal
charges pending.  Kilpatrick and his father have been charged with federal corruption, including fraud, tax crimes and racketeering conspiracy.  FYI :)thisandthat readers.
