The two time winning Oscar winner Denzel Washington graces the cover of GQ Magazine adding more mystery to his already mysterious persona. The 57 year-old actor shares his thoughts on politics, roles he wished he would have not turn down, codes he lives by and why he stays out the public eye, while promoting his new movie “Flight”  scheduled for release in November.

On Mitt Romney: “When I see him, he’s always uncomfortable. You can see that uncomfortableness. Forget about his being Mormon. He hasn’t said anything about his faith.”

On roles he regrets turning down: “Seven and Michael Clayton. With Clayton, it was the best material I had read in a long time, but I was nervous about a first-time director, and I was wrong. It happens.”

On the code he lives by: “I read from the Bible every day, and I read my Daily Word. I read something great yesterday. It said, ‘Don’t aspire to make a living. Aspire to make a difference.’ “

On staying out of the public eye: “Sidney Poitier told me this years ago: ‘If they see you for free all week, they won’t pay to see you on the weekend, because they feel like they’ve seen you. If you walk by the magazine section in the supermarket and they’ve known you all their life, there’s no mystery. They can’t take the ride.’ My professional work is being a better actor. I don’t know how to be a celebrity.”

David Alfred Eaton (Paul Newman)  returns home from the war and find his mother (Myrna Loy) is an alcoholic and adulteress , we can’t blame her entirely  her husband Samuel (Leon Ames)neglects her by spending too much time at his Iron and Steel company. The father has always favored the eldest son Billy who died and he resents the fact Alfred is alive.  Do to the tension between Alfred and his father he refuses to join the family business and leaves home and heads to New York. Alfred meets up with his college friend in New York, Lex (George Gizzard) at a party and decides to go into business with.  At the party Alfred meets and makes a move on Mary St Jane (Joanne Woodward) who comes from a very wealthy family however, she is secretly engaged.  That does not stop him from pursuing her. Now things are lining up for Alfred a young executive married to a high society girl. What more can you ask?  As the story evolves he meets a young lady during a business trip Natalie Bezinger (Ina Balin).  He now has to decide if he wants love and happiness, or title and money.  This movie was release in the 1960’s based in the 1940’s, directed by Mark Robson.  The clothes Joanne Woodward wears are gorgeous. Representation for Tom Cruise denies the story in Vanity Fair’s October issue.  The story alleges Scientology leader David Miscavige wife supervised a series of interviews where actresses were led to believe they were auditioning for a Scientology training film when, really they were being examined as possible cruise companions, according to Orth, Iranian –born actress Nazanin Boniadi who dated cruise for a few months in 2004, was one of the woman who auditioned.  Scientology released a statement “There was no project, secret or otherwise, ever conducted by the church to find a bride (via audition or otherwise) For any member of the church. On Health care and Student Loans: When it comes to the health of our families, Barack refused to listen to all those folks who told him to leave health reform for another day, another president. He didn’t care whether it was the easy thing to do politically – that’s not how he was raised – he cared that it was the right thing to do.

He did it because he believes that here in America, our grandparents should be able to afford their medicine. Our kids should be able to see a doctor when they’re sick. And no one in this country should ever go broke because of an accident or illness. And he believes that women are more than capable of making our own choices about our bodies and our health care. That’s what my husband stands for.

When it comes to giving our kids the education they deserve, Barack knows that like me and like so many of you, he never could’ve attended college without financial aid. And believe it or not, when we were first married, our combined monthly student loan bills were actually higher than our mortgage. We were so young, so in love, and so in debt.

That’s why Barack has fought so hard to increase student aid and keep interest rates down, because he wants every young person to fulfill their promise and be able to attend college without a mountain of debt.  If you missed her speech here it is. FYI thisandthatreaders!!!

Suzanne de Passe has acquired the rights to the film Mahogany .  Remember the 1975 Motown production starring Billie Dee Williams, Diane Ross and Anthony Perkins.   De Passe productions include the Temptations, The Jackson: The American Dream, Motown 25 etc.  She plans to remake and update the film. De Passe  production team is seeking writers, and actors to recreate this classic movie.   Here is a press release announcing the remake.
